Hi Michael! congrats on a well deserved TT, and still my #2 anyway :-) Sooo, it's a fake! :-D :-D :-D oh my, I can't even imagine myself entering a shop and asking them for loaning me a gas nozzle :-D :-D truly an incredible exercise of imagination, wonderful!! (too bad spoling a tasty fresh beer :-P but maybe some ants had a nice Oktoberfest thanks to that LOL! :-) P.S. about your comment... you told me (and Alby) not to enter because you had the winning shot... and when I saw this, I inmediately thought it could perfectly win... and match perfectly your great sense of humour :-D :-D |

Jade - your voice seems to be a little higher :-} Are you related to Oscar Wilde? Love your witticisms - very sharp. Now if you won't go for a drive perhaps I can take you up for a few touch and go's. That will shrivel the undercarriage in no time flat LOL |

"I just read your comment to Thomas about my new mugshot. Now I know what your basic problem is - you need glasses !!"
Boy, you really know how to hit a pilot below the belt (so to speak....I mean if I had....you know... not that I'm saying one way or the other....)
But really, it's just that I didn't realize the magnifying glass was just a prop....

Jade - you forget I spent time as a bureaucrat in Ottawa. If you want your vote back you just can't imagine the forms you will have to fill out and the procedures you will have to endure LOL Congratulations on your sleuthing - there is hope for you yet :-) |

Billy - you are still the great detective. LOL I wonder what comment I left you to give myself away - I will have to be more careful :-D When I first saw 'I feel disconnected' I thought it was yours- I agree it is super - I think it may be by Drivingback but am not certain. I have had a very hard time voting. Thanks for the comment - hope you will excuse my fake. Slainte. Edited on May 3, 2010

:-D :-D :-D all I can think is LOOOL!! what an humorous little disaster!! :-D :-D Perfect for the theme no doubt, a great street pic, direct to my #2 for sure and could have been equally my #1, only I just fell in love with the great "I feel disconnected"... nice lucky shot, and hope the disaster is solved :-) P.S. difficult to guess... I could think on Michael (Mepo) for a comment he left me in a past entry, but there's also another pic that could be from him... I don't know, let's wait to the voting end :-D |

Great! This is so funny, it could be from Mepo. LOL!! Perfect idea and I wonder from where you took that fuel tap... (oh, my English) Maybe the gas station has a whole series of nice shots from you driving away? ;-) Very good for this challenge! |

Forkcandles - You will be happy to hear that it is a fake and there was no fuel spill - I had to use beer to make the puddle ;-)
Old Finn: Many thanks. I originally wanted to take this rig on the highway and photograph it in motion. But the store were (understandably) not keen on that idea. Hope you will excuse my faking it. Edited on May 2, 2010

Hope that was not your car. Good sharpness and colors, suits well to the topic. One of my favorites. |

the photgrapher has passed the ferrari pit team test. [they had a fuel pipe moment and a small fire] still see a 'green' pipe draws the eye to the subject. if this had happened in england you will have got the pump as well. possible more contrast to make the pipe darker. |

Excellent sleuthing Jade. Not only is it moi but you have sensed my fake. My 'luck' was finding a store that would loan me the gas nozzle and hose for 15 minutes while I rigged this shot. It was also lucky that I was in this area to take my locomotive shot when I found the store. The nozzle is not for gas and so would not fit into my fill pipe so I had to tie it to the filler with wire - that is why it cannot be pulled out. I hope you will excuse my small deceit or 'misdirection' as I call it. :-) |

Truly I wondered how you rigged this one... until I read about your luck. Still suspicious but if this is Mepo then you obviously have a knack for finding the roads' worst drivers. Remind me to never catch a ride with you.
In my top 5 for catching a candid on theme. I really feel the technical aspects of the image wanting a bit in clarity and focus/sharpening. The whole looks a little "soft." |
