Ah yes the smudge, when I was loading this picture I thought I had got a stray flash of the white building. I went back to the original and zoomed in and couldnt find it so checked the lens. my eyesight cant deal with so close work now. so have now got a maginfyer glass and yes a small grease mark.
mepo it was the other one I dropped.
JadeO the ship is moored 'portside to' and is off the quayside with a large heavy gangway. this is due to the high mud bank under her keel. the ship is designed to sit on mud when tides go out but the floating harbour in Bristol is about 6/7m in the middle and nil on the edge!!!!
The ships of the day always moored portside to as the older ships the starboard side or steerboard was on the right of the ships until the rudders were introduced.
still the only way in this competion is up and now to find a street with ships in it

So last time you dropped the camera - this time you just dipped the lens in the water? :-( I could not understand the fuzzy scaffolding until I noticed the other drop at the waterline.

I wish the ship was facing the other way into the frame rather than going out. But I also envy your chance to go to sea on these - what a wonderful opportunity.

smudge in center foreground and fuzzy pink area on front of building a little distracting. must be fascinating to work there. el

    Lovely scene with great potential.

There is something in the middle of the shot (a smudge on the lens?) which just catches my eye. Also so much going on I am not sure what is the key subject. A closer shot of a part of the scene I think would work better.
