Jade - I hope it is the original version not that recent garbage reproduction by some forgettable wailing male (excuse me if I'm being an olde farte):-)
Zio - I'm learning to use a chain saw like my favourite Italian LOL |

OK Billy: Give me a call when you do & I will show you around. Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. As for your detective work - if you don't start narrowing it down to one my next guess for you will be "Billy or Villa" LOL |

Interesting composition of lines and angles. Good sharpness. My 1:st choice. |

Bill: Thanks for your comments. I agree and wish it were better but sometimes all you have is that fleeting moment as I'm sure we all experience. Despite its faults I wanted to share it.
Zio Matto: I included all those balconies in the background just for you (Tu sei fuori come un balcone) LOL Thanks for commenting. Slainte, The archangel.
walteristic: You must have been there LOL I wonder what it would be like if all the yellow cabs went on strike. Thanks for commenting. Welcome to the site. Edited on Jun 21, 2010

It's an interesting shot...But there's something that doesn't quite convince me...Don't know... |

I think that this is a strong entry, although maybe not quite as pleasing to my eye as the Times Square shot. I like the leading line of taxis. In its own way it captures the spirit of the city, as does the theater marquee and the PARK sign. In my TT for sure. |

Jade: Many thanks. The defect I corrected was that guys face! It was much longer and he had his mouth wide open LOL I did try taking him out first but the picture seemed to lose depth. He still bugs me though!
el: Yes that would have been great. I had my polarizing filter with me but it was not working well in NY. I'm not sure why. Perhaps the multiple sources of reflected lights from the skyscrapers. In any case - no time on this one. Seconds after I took this the whole scene changed. Phew :-}
raf: Thank you. Funny you should spot that - I left him in because I liked the brolly! I should have known better. |

Like it. Hate the half man on the right, but on the street it is so hard to not have that happen. That is a minor quibble by the way. |

love the colors and feel of the city. two things. someone getting in a cab in that long line would add a bit of percieved activity. and a polarizing filter could have minimized the reflection on the cab windows. in my favs. el |

Nothing shouts yellow taxi like this shot! I really like the sharpness, vibrant rich colour, subject and perspective. Easily in my top 5 and the only thing I can think to critique is the guy walking towards us which is a (minor) distraction I think I would have be tempted to clone out. |
