Congratulations Billy! And I'm sorry for my mistake - I hope you don't mind. I was very sure you were back home from your vacation... But now I googled Haus Bentlage - Hey, Minden is really nice!
And Michael is weird good :-DDD

Congratulations Billy. Now I know who composed this it is easy to understand why I liked it so much. I second Bills comment about B&W outclassing color here.

Many thanks dear friends for such nice commens, I'm very happy you liked the pic because I have enjoyed a lot with this challenge, having holidays part of the time was a great help :-)
I usually don't take pics in BW, prefer colour and then desaturate for the final image. Moreover, I've read tons of articles about BW conversion and learned a lot of methods to make that (some of them have been used and really well rendered in this challenge as I can guess from the PP infos).
But this particular time, I decided to shoot in pure BW, and, despite now I miss a colour version of some of the pics I've taken, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot as a learning exercise. As my surroundings had so nice almost monochrome subjects -the timber frame houses-, I decided to shot BW to concentrate on lighting and composition, along with searching for some nice human element :-D
(yes Michael, that's Martinikirche in Minden, nothing escapes from your eyes :-D Franz is a bit confused I'm afraid LOL but that's a logical mistake mein Freund, I myself can't guess among your pics and Una's ones ;-)
I'm glad that, giving your comments, I seem to have achieved a bit of my goals. With such great competence this time, lots of beautiful an creative images, I'm sure my humble pic won't be high in the final results, but I'm very happy with it and very pleased you liked it too :-)

A nicely composed and captured laconic street scene. To me a great example of how b&w can outclass color under many conditions. In my TT.

I like where you captured the rider. A moment sooner and she would have been in front of a very busy background. A quite calming scene. Good Luck.

What a beautiful scene - I love the overhanging branches, the dappled effect on the stones, and the way the direction of the bicycle draws my eye down the street

my number three. love the old world charm. focus and contrast is great. and catching the rider against the light background makes it. nice work. el

I love the contrasty light, which is hard to capture though you HAVE captured it. I think the tables and chairs just grab too much attention here.

A nice moment nicely captured in b&w but not compelling enough to make my top picks.

Una, I guess? LOL! We can't hide our background.
This is a beautiful shot. Full of atmosphere. Very nice light, shadows & composition. I can imagine sitting there enjoying my coffee. Or I take a walk over to the café...
LOL!!

Super shot. Very natural setting and what a wonderful time of day. Love the composition and the lighting especially. Is that St Martini Kirche in the background?
