Congrats Jade! I was wondering what those white spots were. I had feeling this one was yours. It has a special quality and creativity I've come to expect from you.

No bank. Just a store along Harbourfront in Toronto.

Congratulations Jade. After reading where you found it I wondered if it was in the window of a Bank. My favourite umbrella quote is A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain.

Perfect idea and a beautiful result.
The reflection (or background light) on the right umbrella is a bit distracting ... and I would have liked to see another umbrella on the lower right - just a small part of it in the very close foreground - to give your idea even more depth. But these are just ideas to make your very nice artwork even nicer (for my tast).
High in my votes!

Great concept and well executed. Perhaps you might let us in on your process. I perhaps would have cloned out the white dots on the umbrella to the far right.

Great idea. Wish the umbrellas were closer. I'm trying to figure out the row of lights on the right umbrella - a space ship maybe?

I really like the idea and the composition of the photo that you have created. IMO the umbrellas could be a bit closer to give them more impact.

Thanks for your comments but I really don't think this is particularly good! So your comments are even more appreciated.

For LaRee and others wondering.

First you buy a dozen yellow umberellas, find a tall building on a cloudless night, get your best friend to break the maintenance door going to the roof and...

O.k. I photographed several umberllas hanging in a store window. Used Hue adjustment to change the original colour from Orange to Yellow. Cut out the umberllas and variously rotated and resized them and arranged them on a black background and voila! The white dots are street light reflections in the store window. I was going to clone them out but thought they added an element of depth and "reality" to the somewhat "graphic drawing" look which for me ventures away from photography and toward graphic design. I tried putting a building in the background and tried a sky background but nothing looked right so I went with this.

If it were not for the white spots on the second to bottom umbrella I would have given this a #1 spot, as is I lowered that position but it still will make my TT. The spots do not show up in the thumbnail. Well Done.
