    Thank you Riddley and Franz.

For Franz, I posted a no towel photo on Outtakes for you - let me know if you spot any tattoos.

And for Michael, since I know he won't want to check out the no towel shot, I posted a possible reason for the blond hair in outtakes as well...

Gee Franz - I hadn't noticed that - you are right. Long blond hairs - maybe they have a Golden Retriever as a pet :-)

Jade - it's not a question of ego. It's important to show pride in your work, especially for children. It sets them a good example and a desire to achieve.

Hey Jade, this is a great picture and the very deserved winner. Congratulations!
Now I would like to know if there is a tattoo on your neck or cloned hair? I can see something, but am not sure if I'm wrong or what it could be...

Yeah, that's a very nice shot. well done, Jade.

Thanks, fc. I'm a big fan of the FZ-30 but it is still no match in low light for a DSLR with good glass but it has certain advantages over a DSLR as well. As with any tool, once you become familiar with it, its pluses and limitations, it is amazing what you can do. I defy anyone looking at some of Brown's shots of her horse, Elliott, to discern that it was not taken with a pro-DSLR set-up. This shot, of course, was done in controlled conditions (indoors, lighting, tripod, 2 images combined in 2 layers) so it was easy to do.

Jade O well done this has improved your batting average.
As per comment from teralipter about being a professional. I also showed to another new user of a panasonic camera and they were blown way with the quality of the results.
They I hope, will be joining us in the challenge.

Terraliptar, Glad you straightened your colleague out. I am a professional but not a pro-photographer! And anyone can see, the egg shells being the regular sized variety, this is clearly an image of a pixie!

Lol! Michael. My ego is not that big!

Lo. So you're saying this is better than a Silo or a bunch of onions? Thanks!!! ;-)

ac Yes I am! LOL!

I showed your photo to a colleague at work who declared that you shouldn't be allowed to enter because you were obviously a professional who had access to a large studio and giant eggshells to use as props. She was being serious so I had to enlighten her :-)

Jade. I do admit that initially I had pause to wonder if it was indeed a self portrait. However once I knew who the the artist was I had nary a doubt. I hope you get this one blown up and mounted - it is a keeper for sure.

Congratulations Jade - I think this is your best yet, and that's saying a lot!!!

Mar 8, 2011
Wow!! I don't know what to say really.... just awesome!!

Thanks, Michael (given it is a self portrait I'm glad you rate this higher than an old Silo!!! ;-o ) Seriously, after five runner up finishes in the last 20 challenges it's nice to have one on top again.

I'm still annoyed that I didn't think of a warm indoor shot. Congratulations - one of your very best I think. Well done.

So this is what you did with the eggs from the last challenge. My #1 first time through and it stays there. Great idea,.Super pp. I only hope I don't get this in my Easter egg,

This is an absolutely beautiful photograph - and what makes it even more intriguing are the questions that surround it. Is it someone reborn and starting over? Breaking free from constraints? Lady Gaga going onstage? The Fifth Element?
Love it.

Love the concept, and the way the lighting defines the egg shells and the subject. Great photo!
