Jade - I saw your post b4 editing. So yes, we are very funny guys (some gals but we include them in the guys bit). We are highly skilled; intelligent; gregarious and mostly very good looking. Naturally these qualities vary slightly but the one universal characteristic is our deep humility.

Really a nice photo for the colours and the lighting. Funny how such a steady hand can mess up a weld! LOL!

Jade - Much appreciated. To be honest, I did this in such a rush at the last minute, I did not notice the shutter speed. Now I'm amazed too LOL
Thomas - You really don't want any more light on my face :-) Appreciate your comments. The welding did not give off enough light on its own so I stood an LED light just out of the photo to the left. That is why there is too much light on the chest.
I missed my chance here - I should have quoted Ash & their song Burn Baby Burn. "Almost to the point of no return, everything will burn baby burn" (it would have been appropriate for the weld I completed :-D
Franz - Vielen Dank. Glad you liked it.
Old Finn - Many thanks. I also expected more noise from my Panny at 200 ISO but I needed the setting to get a reasonable exposure. I was repairing a metal angle bracket - unfortunately the weld did not look good since I had to keep stopping to re-set the camera.
To explain what I was doing - The welding set is Proylene/Oxygen - I'm holding the torch in my right hand and a flux coated brazing rod in my left.

This is a great idea too. Well executed in hard lighting conditions. Where is the noise? I looked the picture for a long time trying to find, what you really are doing. My nr 2.

Beautiful colors. You have done a great job with the lighting too. Very well done!

Would have liked more light on the face, and maybe less on the chest.....still in my votes.

For a straight up shot, this is wonderfully captured with great use of lighting. Amazing steady hand for 1/5s.
