Post-Processing: Layers (There are eight layers - two human hands, and computer wiring thumb, forefinger, middle finger, two small fingers, outside palm, and a black background layer), crop, resize, sharpen.       Extra Info: -robots, of course, and more and more engineered in our image becoming something both more and less than our mere replacements, and about to move from industrial to office use...from there the journey to our homes will be short...

Congratulations, do you mind if I ask a question?
Just out of interest - Do you use a black background or do you edit your images to remove the background? Being a relative newby I am still trying to understand how you take such amazing images - I almost understand most of the pp information, but there seems to be an amazing amount of work goes into your images!

Thanks for all your votes and your comment! (Wonder if this is a record for highest placing with the fewest comments...) Anyway, each one is appreciated. And thanks especially to raf!

raf I admit I started with the concept of the Sistine Chapel Creation of Man iconography, one hand human, one robot, which might have worked but I got caught up with the two hands and the lighting and then tried to introduce the third element unsuccessfully. Then I ran out of time, as usual. This is an image which is lessened by the introduction of the third hand and a good example of making a bad photo out of a passable one despite some positive technical elements. Maybe I'll post my tries in outtakes.

lovely lighting on the hands..and generally actually.

The colour section tries to drag our eyes away from the human element. It does not quite do it, as my eyes keep going back and enjoying the hands and ignore the wiring.
