Nice work on the impressive b&w study. It was my favorite and I am happy to see it finish first!

Thank you all for the comments, I did try a some pp on a copy but nothing worked so left it as it was straight out of the camera. Having been a film user for many years and processing my own bw I do like deep blacks.
Mr S: my tz20 has. A range of programs one of which is film grain and high iso and aperture biased. I used this as the water in th docks was full of rubbish after heavy rain and so lost in the black.
The swan is a 2nd year male and only recently changed from grey fluff to full white. This you can tell from the beak colour and feeding habits. A. Young one he is still bullied by the bigger older swans. He may get to breed as he is docker swan and does just winter here due to our feeding policy. The count of swans next weekend will exceed 200 and that will be 50+ in the summer as the bulk of them head off to the lush greens of the Somerset Levels.
Thanks again and so glad to get comments from JadeO. You have been missed.

I assume by "film grain option", you mean ISO 1600! I would love to have seen more detail in the bird. Fits theme.

Nice work, a decided contrast and a fine rendition of the subject , in my favourites.

Love everything about this except the blown area keeps distracting me. I fully appreciate how hard it is to get this shot. The composition is also spot on imo.

What a beautiful contestant for a "contrasts" theme. I like the graininess.

White swans are so difficult to get perfect techically and the blown highlights really grab my eye here. Perfect framing though-that is hard to get right out of the camera like you managed to do here. The subject pose is a classic, and because of that it does not excite me since I feel I have seen this before. Beautiful reflection and a high contrast image. Top 10.

Contrast is imminent in this pic. In my favorites.
