Thanks for the comments. I hope to go back next spring and meet these guys again. I hope to be better prepared to get better results. If anyone runs into this subject be prepared for the mist which will destroy your focus and coat your lens if you're not careful - you can see a band of it where the falls hit the river. I was shooting RAW but it's hard to catch the exact moment - perhaps rapid fire would be better. All the kayakers have a large nose plug which, combined with the 'g' effects makes them look pretty ugly! And take a cable release and a tripod - you get wrapped up in the excitement, anticipation and survival of the participants especially if you get to know them in between runs. All in all - highly recommended.

Great action shot! Needs a little more sharpening maybe but I sense this is a tight crop as it is.
