Post-Processing: straighten, crop, clone out modern hardware on door, convert to bw, minimize a bit of sunlight, resize.       Extra Info: wasn't easy to find a best as i had a few i would equally like to share, so went with one of my favorites. favorites become the desktop background or screensaver on my monitor and this one has been on for the longest. i hope you take the time to view it larger too.

hey thanks you guys for the comments and votes!! i was worried about this as i viewed it on a couple other computers that didn't show this as light as it was on my own. i'd like to leave a link on forum for the original which was in color.

Congratulations on your finish! The more I see this image, the more I like it... no wonder it was on your desktop so long!

I like the simplicity of the composition. Nowadays bicycles have so many bells and whistles, here are three straight bikes witha a straight wooden door, and a wall that is plastered only partly. I bet where it is plastered there is a modern door with modern bikes, just outside the shot.

I love these textured black and white photographs! And the bicycle subject is spot on for these kind of shots. Great POV as well. My favorite in the Open. Good luck!

Beautiful timeless image. Could have been taken last year, or a hundred years ago. Nice work!

I can see how you would like this shot. It has a real texture to it. Nicely composed and framed.

I can see why you like this. For me it's the angular composition, the contrast in textures, and the play of mechanical objects against an almost ageless building. Everything here is man-made, but what differences there are.

With the greys in the picture such as the building blocks and plaster makes this a BW image. Another suitable art house poster picture. Try a large print of it say 20-16
