    oof You are very kind.

Lo No question; I've seen calving up close and it is scarier the closer you get!

RolandB Thanks!

it is a superb wide angle photo, that creates strong mood. Deserves higher place.

Jade - Congratulations - not your usual blue, but just as stunning! You've really captured the raw beauty of the North. I wouldn't want to be that close to the glacier in a kayak - I watched a glacier calve a piece of ice as large as a school bus, and the waves off it were pretty significant.

Thank you all for your comments and votes. Surprised to end up this well with so many good entries.

Ronoz It's not that dangerous, unless something calves!!! Some people live closer to the edge than others - literally!

spectacular location...but dangerous ! I had to look twice to find the subjects & the scale is pretty daunting ! Defintely a tt for me.

raf Always appreciate your analysis; if you mean the sea ice would you have cloned out the ice? It was just there so I didn't really think too much about it.

Mepo I played with the light using layers to make this pop.

broph It really was!

Lo Kayak actually.

ss I saw the noise in the clouds but my attempts to reduce took too much off the definition - not a lot of light to play with in terms of range.

fc Love to see what that wall screen looks like.

elliott Thanks - I like the blues.

How magnificent. I looked. Loosely and saw the paddler for scale. Not sure about the ice along the bottom left

First timeI saw this I thought "Fantastic shot - too bad most people will never appreciate the scale of those cliffs" . . . then I read about the paddler! LOL. Love the way you have used the light here, it brings the whole thing to life.

Absolutely majestic! The canoe in the foreground adds so much to the photo by defining the sheer magnitude of the mountains.

Love the textures of ice, rock, and sea. I'm glad your title referenced the paddler because I had to search for him, wow those cliffs are HUGE! Only reason this wasn't my number 1 is the extra noise from the single shot HDR treatment, I would have liked either more noise reduction or reduced the intensity of the HDR effect in the clouds/sky using layers.

checked the title and then put it on a wall screen and lo the paddlers are bottom left.

high in my favs at the moment. don't think i'd want to paddle that close to a glacier given the rate that big chunks are calving more frequently.
great color and sharp in spite of hdr.
nice going.
