Steven - thanks for the comments. I had not even noticed the second dancer in the photo!

Really wanted to place this one higher, but the jeans-wearing non-spectator detracts from the child spectator in the background, and the hidden dancer behind the main subject is a problem too. Also looks slightly washed out, possibly from use of fill-light?
Love the main subject's pose and expression though, and the slanted horizon line gives a nice sense of the movement of the dance.

Thanks all for the comments everyone!
I did not realize how much I could straighten the horizon until Mepo's comment prompted me to try it. As for the background, I wanted to make it better, but lacked the skill to do so without a very time consuming effort (which I could not afford). As I looked through my other photos at this event, held annually at Stone Mountain Georgia's State Park, I found some with better backgrounds, but alas too late!

good result on curreent theme. shame no teepee as backdrop as the figures on the side spoil this but not much

The tilted horizon does not work for me and the receeding figure in the background is distracting. Despite that I love the image of the dancer, perfectly shot with one foot off the ground to impart the sense of motion in the dance. Good choice!

The horizon off level may impart a sense of motion and the subject could not be more colourful but a less distinct background (either in PP) or by shooting with a narrower depth of field would have taken this to a whole new level.
