I like the action portrayed here. A lower camera angle would have grabbed more of the grimace though. |

Thank you all for your comments. I'm so glad so many liked it. I was happy to capture the falling flakes but it did take several tries. This was a student leaving our local college. When he left for class this morning it was a bright sunny day; the afternoon storm caught most people off guard. Notice that he does not have any gloves. Typical of most students - at least he has a hood on his jacket. I decided long ago that students do not wear gloves and hats simply because their mothers remind them to do it every day. LOL
LaRee - yes we do walk around in this - we have no choice. This was the heavy wet snow that gets into every crack in your clothing and then melts. I happy that several of you liked the expression on his face. Catching it was pure chance - in most of the other shots I took that day the snow destroyed the facial expressions. Next time I will sacrifice the RAW capture and go to burst mode.
doto: I do have a storm hood for my camera but it's flexible plastic and gets rigid in the cold. I cheated this time by parking my car in the parking lot across the street and took some shots through the open window. Got a lot of snow in the car but myself and the camera stayed pretty dry for a change. Edited on Mar 11, 2013

Good capture of falling snow, quite difficult to achieve. |

The expressions says it all - Caught in a freak blizzard with white out conditions that brings traffic down to a crawl. Gotta love winter! |

Dang that is a blizzard! Do people really have to walk around in that kind of weather?!? The grimace on his face kind of tells the story doesn't it. |

An effective treatment of the monotone medium and the subject and framing are so good I feel a little like this is more of a snapshot that a well caught candid. |

Excellent! There's a story going on here. Battling against the snow ... the cold ... great expression captured. In my top 3. |

Nice black and white from a high contrast scene. The pained expression and body language tell the story. Good work. |
