So whadya' saying I am? ;-)
As to parachutes, I don't think any description could convince me of the merits of jumping from a perfectly functioning aircraft...just seems counter-intuitive...
But seriously, I do feel like wings are sprouting from my shoulders and you truly do forget you are apart from those arms.

Jade: Thank you for that - it's good to know that you are what I thought you were. Your initial comment had me a bit worried :-) Absolutely love your description of flying - I felt like I was back there. Now if only I could describe a parachute descent with such feeling I might get you to pull the cord . . .

Michael, if you really want my take, I'd say love is God's gift. It is supra natural - beyond nature.
As for what one experiences in solo high flight at extreme attitudes (other than straight and level), that is a realm beyond description, and quite apart from a terrestrial experience -- it defies my ability to convey that reality beyond inadequately saying it is the closest I can experience to being one with a machine; your identities coalesce; your wings sprout from your shoulders, your ailerons are fingertips; you think and it, this cyborg you have become responds, you are no longer a passenger apart, you are flying and breathing and feeling everything without conscious focus, much as you feel your heart and lungs as you move...

Not sure why you chose to have the child in focus and the adult not in focus. The child's right eye and expression makes this special. For the competition, I am reminded of a passage from the challenge rules page: "Entries for either category should convey the theme without needing additional explanation." When I look at this photo, I don't think "natural" - until I read the title/extra info.

elliot: Many thanks. I can imagine that your Saturn 5 comparison would give you a good appreciation of the non-chemical aspects ;-)

KJW - Thanks for understanding.
Jade - It makes me sad to agree that on a strictly chemical basis you might be correct in thinking that a mother's love is made or caused by humankind. My experience leads me to believe that chemistry is not nearly enough to describe it. My sentiments are with an old Jewish saying, ""God couldn't be everywhere, so He made mothers."
I think I know how enchanted you are with soaring flight. I wonder if you consider that feeling as a chemical reaction made or caused by humankind or if you would lean more to:
. . . Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
- Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Does it fit to the theme? Your extra info is right in my opinion and moreover their smiling is so natural - not forced or artificial at all. Great you found a different interpretation for the theme!

Lovely photo! One to be preserved for the family album.

might be a stretch for the theme, but so what.... great shot capturing just something very natural.

Hard to see how this is "not made or caused by humankind." From a photo perspective, nicely framed candid but I'd darken it a little, maybe add a slight vignette and sharpen.

Had to add this to my favorites just because there is nothing more natural than a mother & child's love & you are one of few if not only one who came up with this interpretation of natural. Good job.
