Extra Info: I've always admired the work of the 20th century photographer Harry Callahan, photographers that influenced him (e.g., Steiglitz and Adams), and a contemporary of Callahan's, Aaron Siskind. In this shot I "borrowed" Callahan's approach to a man sitting in the Montreal metro. For comparison, have a look at Callahan's "Spain 1958" and "Eleanor and Barbara Chicago 1958".

Very artistic and worthy of 6th place in the voting.

I like the 'off balance', somber quality of this shot. Good black and white.

Dark and moody. A nice tribute to the original style. Scores high in my voting.

This has definite potential, but I want to see more of the elements. For me, it's just too dark.

You've got a sense of callahan no question. I think the small framing in Panachallenge takes a lot away from this image. Full sized on my monitor, it would look great! Nicely executed.
