Lo: There are many types of the bottlebrush flowers in both trees and shrubs in Australia. the moat common are the Baksia, the Callistemon and the Melaleuca. This is a small variety of the latter.

Great shot with beautiful colors and bokeh, the water drops are crystal sharp.

Congratulations on your 4th place finish. I'm curious to know what the name of the flower (shrub?) is.

Thanks to everyone for their always helpful and encouraging comments. Joanna it is the rosy pink and the colour looks fairly true to me.
Mepo I didn't know about the Panasonic problem with red. You learn something new each day.
Jade O I was lucky to get it as good as this as the wind was moving the flowers all the time - thus the high shutter speed.

Congrats Babysis...lovely image. Is it a scarlet red or the rosy pink one? Mine is in flower at present and looks much the same as this.

Really well shot but I think the Panasonic system is muddying the reds. Love the brilliance of the water droplets.

The crop really adds to the photo, as does the soft focus of the background.

All it needs is the honey eater. Lovely

I think it needs to be tack sharp to really attain the full potential.

Very nice work with the focus and cropping. Strong subject selection.
