Congratulations - really impressive that an iphone (in the right hands, of course) can produce results like this.

Tension was good enough to make no. 3! It is good to see not playing it safe rewarded. Congratulations!

Very nice use of the warp you get from a panorama.

thank you all for the comments and feedback. OF, yes, for the first time I experimented with the iphone panoramic software. Up until then I have always stitched; but must say, I was pretty impressed by the capabilities of this feature. JO and others: yeah, I debated whether to go symmetric (the technically easier shot for me to take BTW) or asymmetric, and I favored and elected the non-mirrored product. In retrospect I think I would have burned the right side a bit more to de-emphasize, but overall wanted more tension and less order in the shot compared to what I believed the "balanced" approach offered. John C: good choice for a challenge.

I like the grittiness of the sky - it just seems to lend itself to that feeling of standing in the drizzling rain.

The composition is well balanced. Nice view.
My top choice. How did you do the panorama? Made from several pictures or did you use the cameras panorama program?

I'm of two minds about an unbalanced photo like this one where the bridge is not dead centre. I think it would be better if it was here, though, so I would have tried hard to find a way to get that massive hunk of concrete and light post out of the frame somehow. The other element (it's difficult, I know) that would really move this up a notch would be to have an perfectly mirrored sweep of the handrail so the symmetry in the shot was close to perfect. That, of course, is my view; your approach is equally valid.

the lamp etc on the right hand side spoils the picture

I love the composition and mood you've created. The background buildings and sky are, however, a bit too murky and dark, IMO. Still, one of my favorites.

The black and white treatment is appropriate, since it seems to have been a grey day anyway. The walkway draws the viewer into the photo. In my favs.

Very moody and painterly, very interesting!

the only thin i would suggest is putting the bridge (the focal point of the picture) in the middle this time. Just because when you look at the bridge in real life, it would be in the middle
