Of course, the breeze! I think this is just an amazing shot. Classic. I would have thought it would finish higher but it is very worthy of at least a 4th place finish.

    Kudos for a high finish.

A beautiful photo. However I assume the bee is the subject, and if so, does not nearly fill the frame. I am conflicted.

There is too much blurred yellow for me but the amazing wasp gets it into my favourites.

Very attractive colours, a pure honey, and among my top choices.

Jade O., I used a macro lens on a tripod. The main challenge was the slight breeze.
Davep56, I see your point about the yellow.
Old Finn, you're probably right.

All, thanks for the comments.

Very nice! Was this handheld? As sharp as it is I sense it could have been a touch sharper and wonder if you have a little camera shake.

Wow this is gorgeous, and I love how the wings are so clear and sharp.

Excellent detail on the insect/ Great image but just find the yellow slightly over powering

in my opinion this is a no 1
you had a limited window of opportunity as the bug could move and the yellow would have a factor in the exposure

Good sharpness and contrast, but it would suit to the topic better as cropped more to to make the subject more dominant , i think.

Admirable clear rendering of the insect, I like the colours - the cheerful yellow and juicy green in nice contrast to the bug.
