1/80s, f5.6, ISO 640, 706mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: aside from crop and resize, don't remember... probably adjust contrast.       Extra Info: i was sad that this was dq'd from a challenge on 'lighthouse'. (host couldn't tell it was a lighthouse). ok, so maybe it was a big factory chimney with a window.... or maybe a grain elevator converted to something with a window... or maybe what i like, because of the girl in the window, would be rapunzel's tower.
(lighthouse at st. augustine florida if you care to see other images)

Great, dramatic shot. It was one of my favorites. I love the bold diagonals lines hiding the little window. Really tickles the imagination. I thought it would place higher.......

hi, thanks for taking time to comment. i was going for the graphic appeal of the cropping. it was raining that afternoon and the wet surface was reflecting and making the black area somewhat lighter. tried to minimize that with contrast a bit. the young girl in the window was a bonus i didn't see until i got home and looked. will try to put something in outtakes.
thanks again.

Took me a second to figure out what this was, then read your info which confirmed what I thought! It is an odd composition, but that makes it attractive to me.

A very clever artistic shot, in my faves.

Love your sense of humour - and I really think they should have allowed the shot just because it WAS different. Great caption!

the last one sounds best. the host didn't realise the lighthouses are coloured differently for a reason# so you can tell where you are when the light is not working"
shame no blonde hair falling from the window. yes its is difficult finding a blonde when you need one

Great image, very striking design. Of course it's a lighthouse - except I thought it was Hatteras, which also has a spiral pattern.

I love the entire composition, although at first glance the girl is hardly visible. Is there any way that you could bring highlight her more? Nonetheless the lines and contrasts makes this a winner.

Better without the girl who is not framed in a window but has her face obscured by it. Otherwise, really good architectural detail shot.
