Very well done on your second No.1! Amazingly photographic location which you used well. Great out-take versions too.

Again congrats, this was my #1 pick.

Congratulation on both your artistic vision and technical skills. You look like a character from a Tarkovsky film.

Thanks again, this one took a little more effort than my main entry. Was not nice weather that day, extremely windy, and as you can imagine this abandoned house did not make it much better inside.
I have others I'll post in the outtakes taken at different windows. This is the same house as my entry in the #131 Opening/s challenge.
Thanks for the great comments, this is a great site I really enjoy the community here.

Old Finn - Thanks, I will post the originals in the outtakes.
KJW - Thanks very much.
BarbroS - Thanks for the comment, see what I posted to SteveBee as far as cropping goes.
Lo - Thank you.
A.N. Other - Thanks for the nice comment, no I did not lighten the trouser. I will post originals in the outtakes in the forum.

Great PP work has helped produce a striking photo. Not as much window as some entries with more foreground interest but it still works for me. Did you lighten the left trouser leg? It looks a bit patchy. GL.

I really like the composition - it's a nice take on the theme. The texture of the snow is just beautiful, but I find the walls somewhat overdone. Still high in my faves.

Interesting HDR job, nice textures. I would maybe prefer a tighter crop, a tiny bit off both sides and at the bottom, up to a little below the walls. Question of taste. A nice picture.

Beautiful capture, well composed. Great idea to get shot of self looking out window.

Nice photo, good work, in my favorites. I hope you tell more in outtakes about the way you made this photo.

Elliott - Thank you for your nice comment, I guess my interpretation is the person in the photo's, view from the window. As you can see from the extra info it is me standing there, my view was different from what you see. I'd say you got the better view.
Mercury - thanks for the comment, see my reply to Elliott. I took two 3 shot exposures at this particular window and did a few at other windows, will post some of the others in outtakes.
QueenEsther, ysal, RobertLavker, forkcandles and eagle1 - Thanks very much for the encouraging comments.
SteveBee - I thought the same thing about the footprints, reason why I decided against the crop is I like the way they lead into the picture. Thanks for the nice comment.
babysister - Thanks for the great comment, no I do not work or live there. I chose the "But it's okay to use other windows as well", part of the challenge. But who knows, I could be a contractor, or maybe homeless:-).
Jade O., Phil99, and aoc46 - Thanks very much for the comments.

An intriguind, dramatic scene with excellent lighting and composition. Clearly about looking out of the window, though we don't get to see much of what's out there. Still, a fine photo - nice work!

Well conceived and executed. Nothing for me to critique.

Fantastic photo but I presume you neither live nor work there?

Wonderful evocative image. I like the figure looking out the window and the barn in the distance. Technically outstanding and handling the dynamic range. A single set of footprints in the foreground would have been perfect. With all of the trampling I am inclined towards cropping that part out.

Wow, so that is yourself in the shot? Very nice. Really effective in B&W. One of my top picks.

This is very cool in black and white. Nice clarity too.

Excellent idea! Although the image is not about the actual view through the window, but more about the man staring at the view, I feel it is still on theme. Love the detail in the snow. (it suggests that you had to walk quite a few times to get the shot perfect?) I do not like the "smoothness" of the tone mapping (HDR effect) on the walls. Did you perhaps try to "over-sharpen" them in one of your exposures, and compare that look to this one? I think that might fit nicely with the sharp details of the snow? Brilliant composition and love the B&W.

well my two favorites seem to say more about the view on this side of the window rather than the view out of the window, but hey, we all use different criteria for ranking the entries. and its a keeper... a shot that stands on its own outside the boundaries of the challenge. great shot.
