Panasonic DMC-FZ200       22nd place, 22 points
1/400s, f2.8, ISO 100, 113mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped, exposure adjustment and cloning out some distracting wires.       Extra Info: Very dense fog made an interesting background.

The inclusion of part of the window frame suits the demands of the challenge, the dense fog adds to a great silhouette of the stark tree branches. The dark leafy foliage detracts somewhat but would have been difficult to avoid or clone out. In my favourites.

Interesting shot but the darker tree in the bottom corner pulls the eyes

I think the idea is good, and the window frame lends context, but the tree isn't all that compelling a subject.

This lacks interest for me, I love trees and think they make great subjects. I think using the window frame more here could add the interest.

Jade--Thank goodness somebody 'got it'. Alas, minimalist also describes my effort for this challenge as well. Sigh! Btw, good tension or bad tension?

Very minimalist almost Japanese look but the other tree creates a tension by pulling my eye from the main subject.

because fog is such a soft and makes everything nearly one colour.
i clicked on a image viewer and selected Negative the change made more of the branches .
the bottom edge needs to be made level and right angles to the right frame upright

The overall impression is one of starkness. I guess you are saying the fog made the background disappear so that you have essentially a silhouette of the bare tree. I think I might have tried to make the window frame more of an element in the composition or cropped it out completely.
