Michael: This is a great image and I think I placed it 3rd. I do not want to hear you complaining of nothing to shoot at. Poor baby. An outstanding and well deserved 3rd. Congrats. |

Interesting patterns in the wood and excellent composition. Perfect placement of the person in the red coat. Well done. |

Wonderful image, great composition and perspective, the red coat is perfect. Among my top choices. |

Great detail in the wooden beams. The figure is placed perfectly to draw the eye to the far end of the bridge |

Very good. I like the way the red coat matches the window frames and the way the figure is central to the opposite end of the bridge. |

aoc46. Thanks. The window frames are red because the outside of the bridge is painted. I had it done that colour to match my wife's coat :-) |

Striking image with lots of intriguing geometric shapes to look at, but the red on the window frames confuses me. |

Thanks for the great comments. I went up there to shoot the bridge in B&W but it looked absolutely dreary in the winter. I'd like to say I planned the red coat but it was just a fortunate coincidence. This bridge was re-built by the village with voluntary donations from across the continent after vandals burnt the old one. The wood comes from the enormous logs used in the river to contain trees that were cut and then floated downstream. Notice how straight the beams are. Straight and well seasoned wood of that size is almost impossible to find today and the cost would be prohibitive. The lumber company donated the logs to re-build the bridge. Logs are no longer floated downstream but are trucked out. |

I have a feeling that red coated figure is feeling the same way. "why am I walking?" |

A complex structure that you have captured well. The inclusion of a figure framed against the entrance/exit is a definite plus. |

Nice perspective, and I like how the red on the persons coat coordinates with the red on the bridge. |
