I had my cell phone with me when I cut down this old tree, so I took a shot of it to document the felling. It was my first cutting of any substantial size, and was done with a blade that was way to too short, thus the multiple hacks. It was too big to be so close to our house. I also wanted to replace it with a fruit tree. My wife has since nixed my fruit tree plan! :-(

Not a particularly interesting subject. The image also needs processing, higher contrast to be specific. Maybe you were going for the detail in the wood, however this is not really highlighted effectively. Plus there is some blurriness which is distracting.

the cut piece lying on the ground looks from a different tree
i would have tried to crop that piece out and tried to emphasis the rings and cuts
