Congrats on top 10. It didn't make my picks because of the deer in the headlights without the headlights look (ie. the eyes are deadly black and show no reflected light (life) which is a big peeve of mine when it comes to animal photography). |

Nicely focused and exposed. Maybe a crop that is not too centered would be better. |

Lovely deer. Well composed, good sharpness with 1180 mm. |

Crop seems awkwardly low, needs more body IMHO.
I would of also cloned out the tree coming out of the deers head.
Shame as the photo is very sharp. |

I love this little fella. He/she looks so close that I want to reach out and stroke him/her. |

That's a very long shot to get so crisp and clear. I like the expression and alertness of the animal. TT. |

Thanks for the comments. The problem I hit in cropping is that a crop on the left leaves the deer looking out of the frame. I was kicking myself for not composing it better when I shot it, but it was only stationary for a second or two. |

Good capture. I'd be inclined to crop some off the left so the face isn't so centered in the frame. |

Nice head-shot with good focus, background just enough blurred to indicate the environment. I like the blue/brown colour dominant. Maybe a pity the subject is not a little more to the side. Edited on Jul 9, 2016
