This shot grabbed me from the first time I saw it - it's absolutely beautiful - It has a wonderful honesty about it. Congratulations.

It was evident to me that the photog behind the camera was a person with some experience; it is rare to see a portrait which demonstrates the wisdom of the photographer but I think this was does here. I may b reaching but I don't think you would've made this shot quite like this when you were twenty, even if you had the skills and equipment then that you have now. There is an experienced eye here.

Congrats, this was my top pick. I think it's especially amazing that you achieved this quality with the FZ200.

Thanks to all for comments and your support. This gentleman is a person of dignity, and agreed to let me photograph him. He saw the shot in camera and liked it. Wish I could somehow get a copy to him. I will try to figure that out.

Striking image! Love the expression and the lighting. It would be better if his face is not dead center.

My no. 2 for the detail, honest, candor of the subject. The framing, the setting, the non-distracting but orientating background detail, the cleanness of the image. Nothing to add or take out that wouldn't result in a lesser shot than this.
Fine detail with minimal noise, tack sharp, yet softly forgiving for good portraiture. That's a rare combo. Shows technical excellence and brings life to the character. You are complimenting your subject with this one.

Excellent on technical and artistic elements
Intriguing aspect ratio for a portrait; it works for me, but I would be interested to know why you chose it.

Great portrait, and the salt bag behind is a nice touch. Might prefer a slightly tighter crop on the sides.

Fabulous shot. I love the overall lighting, as well the light in his eyes. Also effective the way you brought out the sack of salt. My #1.

Very nice capture... it makes a good portrait.. the light reflection in the eyes are a bit distracting especially his right eye. the bag in back ground also distracts from the subject... still a very nice photo.. TT

This is a really powerful portrait! The expression on those eyes are amazing. I'm just not comfortable with the subject being too centered in the framing. I have this at #2.
