Well leading the field at 200mph coming out of the turn I'm not complaining! Still not sure how you managed to freeze everything at 1/800s!

jade, i thought about that, that is why i titled it about first turn. i know, almost not visible. it is that bit of the track in the sunlight beyond the sunoco sign maybe a half mile from this point. :)

I sense there is a story behind this one, nice perspective, subject missing...

thanks for taking a look and commenting. yes, daytona. i had not been out there since the mega renovation.
thought about adding a car or motocycle and tweeking to look like motion blur but like this view as is.
this is little darker than i wanted. i keep forgetting to check on another computer monitor before making final decision.
i went out there with a fairly wide (12mm) fixed focal length lens. no automatic anything, but very forgiving with incredible depth of field.

I had to cast a vote for this, makes me feel like I'm in motion. Great shot.

Striking scene, with great LLs. Love the big black shapes at right (Daytona lettering?). I find the colored wall bits in nearly dead center to be distracting, but I don't know what I'd do about them. Don't like cloning them out, as they're integral to the environment. Cropping to move them off center would spoil the composition. Maybe just desaturate the red some?

Nice strong leading lines... even the clouds seem to be helping. Daytona?
