Have you thought about a slower shutter speed, then using a penlight to create the sparkle?

cookiejar - what does "car" mean?

Thanks for the comments everyone. This challenge was my first attempt at using cross screen filters on my lens. I quickly found that one must be careful to avoid including too many identical starbursts. I found without the flash, the glittered parts of the ornament did not offer much sparkle at all.

The front lighting has removed all drama and has flattened the image. The sparkle affect here work to a degree because of the different sizes of the stars.

This would have been much better without the use of flash.

Definite seasonal sparkle, though the bright red ribbon competes too much. The scene does need more than the ball, but something more subdued might be a better choice.
