Well done Anita - loved the way you finished this.

Congrats. I must say I found the people in the surf attractive. Would love to be there at this time of year.

Thanks Marion, I was pretty sure by some of the comments that I wouldn't win...and shame on you for not vistiting the best state in Australia so far, 😂 hehe.

Congrats on 2nd Anita. I thought this one would win. Now that I know where it is, I'll have to try to get there one day. (I've yet to visit the west.)

Thanks for the great comments and votes, this is my fave beach in Perth, Cottesloe. Has the iconic heritage listed hotel on the site, these pillars are part of it. Have used them quite a bit in other photo challenges.

Anita, I thought the frame too strong in this one, but hey, it came in 2nd. So congrats!!! :-)

I like the surf scene a lot but find my attention is constantly drawn to the stains and smudges on the columns. I wish they were darker.

I find this is a very powerful photograph - the size of the portal juxtaposed against the insignificant size of the people, the brooding colour and mottled finish. Love it.

this loses out / would have used the cemtre frame as the frame and lost the outside gaps

Really like the composition and overall feel of the photo.

Sepia suits to this old building. In my favorites.

I like the mood, the composition (including the bird hanging out) and the idea of toning this almost to appear like an old photo. Not a big fan of high "grunge" factor - by this I mean the contrast and tone combined is a bit much here.

My favourite photo. I love the antique colour and can't keep my eyes off those swimmers because they are so beautifully framed. The bird is a bonus.

Really like the striking composition - and the way the swimmers are only in the central archway. Like the PP treatment too - in my TT

Interesting treatment, it makes the entire photo look like a mural. The sky has an odd texture (like a mural). Beautiful composition though, what an interesting location!

I like the way you've handled the composition - but you're trying to make the frame the subject. Unfortunately the real subject gets lost - either the bathers or the gulls. I think you made the most of this opportunity - but I'm sure you have lots of great off-theme shots.

Good example of framing, well-executed. Would like to see a stronger element of interest in the frame - maybe a person sitting on the top step. (The birds are so small and blending in that I didn't notice them at first.)

My top favourite here. I love the scene and love the processing. This place needs to be on my bucket list because it echoes a place of many arches, overlooking the sea, that featured in recurring dreams that I had as a child.

Very nice composition with all the action in the central frame. The sepia treatment gives it a nostalgic feel.
