  #181 Framing (Revisited Again)
Entry 7 of 17

Japanese screen       ©2017 babysister
Panasonic DMC-GX7       7th place, 121 points
1/59s, f1.4, ISO 400, 50mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropping, cloning of reflections, removed yellow cast caused by the gallery lighting.       Extra Info: This photo is taken using a Japanese circular box with a hole through the middle, for the frame. It was crafted from very fine slats of wood. The OOF of the box is deliberate as when in focus it detracted from the screen.

This was my #1. I loved the creativity.

Another unusual frame that works well. I can appreciate that having the frame in focus would not be anywhere near as effective. Well composed too. Kudos.

This is a very innovative composition. The soft brushstrokes and similar palette make it difficult for the screen to standout, so I tend to focus on the frame.

I like the oof framing which leads me into the screen at the rear. In my favs.

like the image but maybe some level adjustment

This is a striking image and works really well for the theme. Perhaps a little more tonal variation would make it even stronger...

Very interesting composition. I think I would like to see the "frame" a bit stronger, maybe more in focus. Still, a very original shot.

Nice colors, and a good example of framing. Would suggest a smaller aperture for more DOF and a better sense of what that is we're looking through.

I like the idea and the integration of the related themes. I would have taken the framed photo off the other wall as I think it needlessly distracts.

Looks a lot better enlarged, rather than in thumbnail. A clever idea well executed.
