In PSE 11, USM, cropped, resized, sharpened.		       Extra Info: I found this curious gathering of 25 insects on the side of a house. Just under a board of siding, there is a row of 26 "somethings" neatly arranged. It looks like the bugs came out of these "compartments". I hesitate to call them "eggs" because of the unusual shape and metallic look of the things. Each one seems to have a hole through which these creatures emerged. I checked back later at night and found the bugs had all congregated closer to the row of compartments for the night. The next day, most of the bugs were gone. A few were still nearby a short distance away. If anyone knows what these bugs are and what that row of "somethings" are, please let me know! The whole structure is only about 4 cm (1.6 in.) long. So each little compartment is only about 1.5 mm (0.06 in.) long.

Jun 7, 2017		     Bernie: Glad you identified it. I've never heard of neem oil before reading about it on the site you referenced. It seems almost too good to be true - kills off pests but does not harm beneficial insects like ladybugs and butterflies but leaves no lasting residue. I'm going to try and find some.

Jun 6, 2017		     Thanks for the votes, comments, and identifications. After I submitted the entry, I noticed that the 7th egg from the right did not have a hole in it. So, that explains why there are 25 bugs, and 26 eggs, as one egg had not hatched.

Ysal found what I believe to be the type of insects these are. Common name: Western Leaffooted Bug,
scientific name: Leptoglossus zonatus

Jun 4, 2017		     The segmented structure is fascinating as is the repetition of the 6-legged insects. I think they are a type of fire ant, which comes in various colours. I like the composition, the detail and the colour.

Jun 3, 2017		     I found this really fascinating and went hunting on the net. I can't remember what I initially looked under, but on a site called BugGuide there is a section called Unidentified Coreid Eggs and Hatchlings and there are several photos of your bugs and of their eggs but not necessarily together - a couple of photos have both.

Jun 3, 2017		     Probably Milkweed Assassin Bug. Zelus longipes. Good for the garden but can leave a painful bite if you annoy them.

Good choice for the challenge. In my favs.

Jun 3, 2017		     Interesting juxtaposition of the patterned rod with the randomness of the insects. IMHO these two opposing aspects makes this a compelling image. Great eye.
