I am guessing the only reason this didn't do better is caught in SteveBees comments. But the overall formations themselves are quite stunning in this light.

The rock strata are beautiful, and you've captured them well.

I find the colors attractive, and the rock strata interesting, so I'm a bit surprised I don't like the overall photo more. Don't worry though. Usually when this happens, the shot finishes high in the top ten, such are my photo appreciation skills :-)

A wonderful subject, and tricky light/shade to work in, so it is great you got the colours and sharpness; plus the excellent contrast with the green bush
Had you considered a slightly tighter crop, to concentrate viewer's attention?

Great patterns in the rocks (?! - I thought they were wood until i read the title.)

Magical formations with great lighting to highlight them and push the rest of the scene into the background. That said I might have framed just the central sunlit rock and the rock to the right more, either by moving in tighter (entirely different image) or maybe leaving as is and working hard to get the green bush in proper tack sharp focus with better dynamic range. That might have required a tripod and two or more images or even stacking depending on how much room you had. Stunning natural formations. Tough shooting conditions.

Confusing composition. Not sure what the focal point is supposed to be here.

What a beautiful rock formation! Please tells in the outtakes where this was shot. I wonder if this would be better if this was a tighter shot of the rocks alone
