Jomari: Re getting rid of people (in a nice way ;-). I just posted a link to an article about that in the 'Removing photo backgrounds forum'.

Jomari, I know exactly what you mean about people! I often want to yell “ok people, keep walking!” Nicely done, congrats on your top 10 finish.

I'm a big fan of photos with people in them. They often lend life and meaning to the shot. I try to include people more than I used to as my small objection to the net driven frenzy of fear that anyone in the photos will be abducted/transmogrified/ scarred for life/etc. Many of the proponents of this frenzy, blithely ship off thousands of photos of their own offspring on Facebook and other totally unsafe social media.

However, people do have a downside in that they tend to position themselves exactly where I don't want them to be :-) Recently my view was blocked by a couple who pushed their way to the front of the group and then took out their cells phones and started texting instead of watching the show. Maybe I can use that as a subject for the current challenge.

Sorry to hear about your software. You did a great job of getting rid of the people behind the hedge. I love your phrase - another layer of people . . . - so true! This was my #4 pick by the way.

I totally agree that the people behind the girl's head should have been cloned out. I did clone out several people from behind the hedge. My photoshop tools were misbehaving and everything took ages to achieve. In the end I thought 'That's it! I've had enough.'
Waiting for people to move didn't achieve much for me. There were more people coming along to replace them. And another layer of people behind them anyway.

I like the girl looking at the clock but her image is spoiled by the people behind her and the post under her chin. Perhaps moving to the left would clear the background and let us see more of her expression. The clock is certainly an attractive entry for the challenge.

This is a lovely addition to the garden. Nicely photographed with the little girl giving an idea of size.

What an interesting idea for a clock. It must look beautiful from a higher vantage point. I like the inclusion of the girl in the shot. The colors are bit over saturated.

Nice picture, beautiful colors, good sharpness and composition. In my favorites.

Nicely taken of an interesting subject.

Interesting garden. The clock would be more apparent if shot when the hands are more oblique to each other. You might want to retouch out the distracting people in the background - or wait for them to leave before shooting.

An interesting picture. My only comment would be had you considered cloning out the people at the back on the right, which would isolate the girl more?
