Three Ibises       ©2019 SteveBee
Panasonic DC-G9       1st place, 196 points
1/639s, f5.6, ISO 800, 600mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped, converted to monotone in high-key style, slight lightening vignette.       Extra Info: I saw the birds walking in formation in the same direction and captured them with their heads in different positions. I tried different color and monotone renditions before settling on this high-key style image.

Lovely shot. The birds' positions make a great composition.

Great choice of subject and excellent capture.

Interesting choice of high key monotone, as the birds appear to blend into the background quite a bit. Please post the original/alternatives in outtakes!

Your timing was perfect to capture these birds in formation like that. I like the pp - it focuses attention on the heads.

I think the high key suits beautifully. My top pick.

Very nice shot - these birds look funny to me. Your strong treatment draws black edging around them, what gives the picture some kind of comic style.

I really like the subject and the birds' poses but the picture looks little too washed out rather than high-key.

nice capture... the position of the birds to each other is right on... I wanted to like this image more but the lightness of the birds and the background make for a washed out photo (for me) would have liked more contrast or separation between birds and grass. in my favorites.

Perfect for the challenge. I would have never thought of the monotone rendition, which works marvelously. This is a powerful image. You might try flipping the image horizontally with the Ibises pointing to the right, as the eye usually sees left to right. High in my TT's.
