#218 The Rule of 3 (NOT the Rule of Thirds)
Entry 1 of 18

Wild Horses       ©2019 SteveBee
Panasonic DC-G9       1st place, 194 points
1/400s, f7.1, ISO 200, 64mm, Normal Program, Center Weighted Average, no flash

Post-Processing: Converted to B&W.       Extra Info: I selected this composition because of the triangular arrangement of the subjects, all more or less pointing towards the center, which keeps the eye within the frame and flowing naturally from one horse to the next.

Congratulations, Steve. I love this - very much like the graphic look of it, too.

Interesting that you chose, not only monochrome, but an effect that looks like a drawing. The sky looks like it was a beautiful blue. Would like to see the color version just to compare. In my favs.

This shot really grows on you. At first I thought that the horses were somewhat lost in the background, butnow I feel that their positions really add to a sense of freedom. Great detail and beautiful use of pp.

    excellent composition.

Interesting choice of pp - please share the originals in outtakes: always nice to see what people can do with the original image

What an outstanding image! Not often does one image stand-out from all of the rest in a challenge; however, this one clearly does. Everything works. It is so crisp, perfectly composed, lighted, and toned. Congratulations.

    Easy winner for me!
It's a lovely photo, great detail without becoming cluttered, beautiful tones, good composition - and to cap it all off - horses! I love horses.
