Glass Menagerie       ©2019 jomari
Nikon Coolpix B700       3rd place, 98 points
1/14s, f3.3, ISO 400, 24mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Crop and straighten, Topaz Detail, colour replacement tool to cover a small colour reflection blemish, spot healing tool to subdue a few tiny hot spots, select an area of background and apply dust and scratches filter, resize image with a small correction to perspective, auto tone. Final resize, save for web.       Extra Info: Three glass animals - although not the same, obviously three similar subjects. They are sitting on a black tile reflecting a TV screen above them, on which I had a digital artwork of my own displayed to provide both light and background.

The two figures on the right tend to blend together too much. Fortunately, the reflections are separated and distinct. Good lighting, color, and focus.

Very creative set-up. The patterns on the reflections are really intriguing. I'm not sure if moving the right figure away from the middle one would improve the composition or make it too mundane. There just seems to be a lot going on.

I love the way your objects engage with their background. Sharp and colourful. Do you have a picture of your setup you could share in outtakes?

Well designed and constructed. The reflections work really well. A very attractive image. I especially like the way the objects overlap but the reflections are separate.

I love the reflection which to me look prettier than the objects. The two figurines on the right overlapping is a little distracting.

Nice use of colour and light. Well done.

Nice idea for the theme. Beautiful colors. I thought the animals would stand in a glas bowl with a swirl pattern.
I think it would be helpful if you turned the right animal to the front, so that it stands free, not interacting with the animal in the middle.

Suits to the topic. Nice color and background.

Very beautiful and creative. My only suggestion is to avoid overlap of the glass figures in the composition.
