Apr 27, 2008		     Like the colors and the statue. In the end the composition just didn't do much for me. Maybe a little wider landscape composition would work better.

Apr 27, 2008		     Thanks Broph. Sorry for the confusing caption. I tried to tell, that the statue is 69 years old. It was meant to represent Aleksis Kivi, the national author of Finland, but actually there were no pictures to serve as a model.

Shooting him against the building makes him stand out and keeps the viewers attention on your subject.
Your caption leaves me mystified. I have a feeling that it means something significant to you but to the viewer it is very confusing.
For me a good caption, such as 'lonely in the square' or 'loneliness in bronze' is a very essential part to a photographer's presentation.
Nothing should distract from the image.
