Post-Processing: Croppped, sharpened edges, adjusted contrast, re-sized.       Extra Info: An adult Cicada dries it's wings in the sun after emerging from it's nymph. Apparently some people consider these a delicacy. I'll skip that course, thank you :-)

This was the first time I picked a theme and the experience has taught me well. For example, I didn't know that there was a forum devoted to each challenge as it was running. Had I known this I could have got into the discussion early and clarified my comments to agree with the sample that I submitted.
All said, I'm very happy that my aim of increasing entries was fulfilled. Thank you for the stats by the way - that is amazing! Now if you will excuse me I am going to metamorphize back into a God so that there will only be one opinion from now on.

Aug 11, 2009		     Well, Mepo, the voting is all over the place on these entries and we all are going to blame you! (Doesn't matter the voting is always all over the place -- we want you to feel guilty!) ;-)
Actually, if you check the forum, you'll see my googling turned up just the opposite impression about what full frame might mean so I think it is safe to say, there are at least two divergent views on the subject.
But you pulled in a lot of entries so full credit to you for picking the subject.

Aug 8, 2009		     I guess I should have included some internet links when I chose the "Fill the Frame" theme. Comments on my entries in both challenges make me aware that some people consider "Fill the Frame" to mean that no background should be visible. In my view "fill the frame" is a method of avoiding confusion about which subject you are photographing.

One site I researched when choosing this theme was:

The example they use is a beautiful photo of a family of three walking on a beach.

Anyway, I'm glad the theme drew a lot of fantastic entries and I hope everyone enjoyed the challenge.

Aug 7, 2009		     Well the cicada is impressive but we've lost the bottom half of those magnificent wings and more seriously, this does not seem full frame to me.
