The camera has been focused to the background, not to the flower. The colors are nice.

This would have been a nice macro, unfortunately it is out of focus and top of the pansy is cut off, try some more and you will get at some point. Macro photography is great fun and can be done anywhere. This video might be of help to you. Nice that you tried.

your loss of focus at the time of exposure has made the background come to life.
its happened to me as well

I like the colors and comp, but the flower really needs to be sharper.

You didn't write much up about this, so I am not sure it it was your intention to keep the flower out of focus and only have the background in focus. Either way it is a awkward photo to look at, the objects in focus are at the edge of the frame and size wise insignificant to the big blue blob placed dead centre. I am all for trying out new things, but this one doesn't work.

Not sure if the out of focus flower was intentional, but my attention is constantly drawn to the in-focus background. The colour and pattern on the flower might be attractive in a different shot.

Pity but this is too out of focus for me.

Colorful flower, but would look better in focus.

Yes, I thought my lens should be up close to my subject, too close

Nice colours, but the subject is out of focus. A higher f-stop would help.

Odd to have a macro with an out of focus subject and a sharp background. This does not work for me.

Unfortunately your focus is on the background and not the flower.

Maybe you tried to focus closer that your lens would go? Would have been better further back.
