Looking at this and your alternative posted in the outtakes, my guess is why most people prefer the outtakes (including me) is the sky here looks a bit overdone. Well done with the TT placement though!

One must never assume 😀😀😀 that one is not voting.
I've been away.
Thanks for the nice comment anyway.

The Comyns really are setting the standard. Congrats on a fine photo and a fine finish.

Beautiful shot. Well balanced asymmetrically and between dark and light as you mention. The rays in the sky look as if they were created with a cloning brush. I love the texture and detail in the foreground, I think it helps anchor the trees very well.

The barn really seems to ground the photo, and the horizontal lines naturally draw the eye to it. I love the lacy look of the trees against the pale sky, though "starburst" effect distracts a bit.

Balance/composition is excellent, though the fuzziness in the sky looks odd to me.

Lovely tones and processing, I think the balance is about right, in my top picks.

I am not sure how well the trees balance the barn, rather the best balance is between the relatively dark foreground and the dramatic sky. Overall, a great image, in the style of JohnComyn, which should be taken as a compliment.

Striking! I am not totally sure that the barn balances out the weight of the 2 trees. Still a nice photo.

Not sure if you are the same one who posted the 3 trees in the Main challenge, but I like this one much better. Look more balanced, and the barn looks nice.
