Looks like this was shot at the same level as the bird. Were you in a tree?
Beautiful creation. Congrats on your top ten finish.

Two top 10 finishes in your debut! Wow! And in a tough field of entries. Sure hope we have you here as a regular!

Wow, what a beautiful bird! I know we don't have them here in the U.S. Great capture. I might consider cropping a bit more on the left so the bird is not so centered. Also clone out that thing in the lower right.

Great capture, especially at that speed. These birds move their head so fast it's hard to get them as sharp as this. Nice shot!

Beautiful colour and detail in the woodpecker. It's hard to catch them with their heads still

Very sharp and well-exposed. The subject and vertical lines strike me as calling for a portrait image orientation.

Good shot, remove the object in lower right.

the surround brings out the colours in the bird.

Great capture. IMHO, cropping about one-fifth of the right would eliminate the bottom piece of gray, which is somewhat distracting. Otherwise a marvelous image.

This is such a fine photo it deserved to be in my top ten, excepting only there were so other also fine photos competing to get there. There is not a thing wrong with this photo and if you did nothing in pp you did wondrously to capture this as it is. I might have played a bit to crop it more but it is a tough call. I like it fine as it is.

Great colour and detail. Could have removed the bit in the bottom right but a favourite
