Nice capture of the gulls. Quite a contrast between foreground birds & background trees, personally the dark trees are overly distracting & take away from the shot.

This appears quite dark on my monitor. Kudos for catching these gulls in mid flight - they're pretty fast.

Outstanding photo. You have captured the birds well, and the use of black and white is perfect for this photo. Well done.

I love the contrasts in this image. fits the theme perfectly and shows how effective B&W can be.

No sign of the water, and I would have prefered to see a lighter background.

I like the energy of all the birds in flight. While the black/white contrast is striking, I'd like to see a little more shadow detail in the dark areas.

I'm not sure, Mepo, but I think what you are seeing is the darker shades of the wings or wing tips folded so background is seen. Also, a little peak of light from thru the woods sometimes ends of very close to the end of the bird's extended wing. No, this is just one image. As to the water, I merely pointed that out to try and explain why the birds had congregated in this location. Did not want it in the image.

I like this but can't understand why the background appears to overprint on the birds wings. The title says 'over the water' yet there is no water. Is this two images merged?
