Could have called this one "contemplation", it looks like he is contemplating the plunge... Nicely composed and captured... Well done.

Thanks very much both :-) .

aoc46 - I'm ashamed to say I had my camera on fully automatic for this photo but looking at the exposure details the camera didn't have much room to slow the shutter speed. At best I could have got it down to about 1/500th but at f8 the photo's quality would have decreased.

Great shot of the bird - too bad you couldn't get it in the act of catching a fish. (Darn birds need to be better trained if they expect to be photographers' models.) Personally, I'd like a slower shutter speed; I prefer water like this to look like it's flowing rather than sculpted (though not to the point of milky). Still, nice work, and right on theme.

Wonderful detail, especially in the water. Lovely use of rule of thirds.

Thanks SteveBee - The photo is off square (962x838 pixels) but I agree that square photos can lend themselves to symmetrical compositions, but so can rectangles as they are symmetrical too.

I see the ROT use, but I think square format is better suited to symmetrical compositions.
