Well done on a fine win :-).

I did get your point, I was just giving my own partly to explain further the reason I couldn't vote on your previous two entries. I wouldn't say that the inclusion of your (and everyone else's) post processing information was an advantage or disadvantage but it/they are interesting. For instance your 'perspective' enabled me to understand why the top of the closest balloon looked an unusual shape. I often wish the software people used was allowed to be stated as I find that info interesting and possibly helpful too but I understand the reason for not letting them be known. I do wish that rule was in black and white on the rule page so everyone can see why we have to exclude that info (hint hint Bernie ;-) .

Congratulations! This was my number one choice. It's a real stand out.

Congrats - my top choice. I guess the fact that I didn't reply to your "if you read this..." answers your question.

Congrats, great shot. If you had put in your PP section that this was a composite image of 3 different balloons, I would not have given you top pick. So it does matter to me.

A.N. Other: Thanks for the response, although I think you missed the point of explaining how you find it at all useful. I am especially interested in how you conceive the PP info to be an advantage/disadvantage if you'd be so kind as to explain.

A good subject for the theme with bright colours.

Having your post-processing information available has helped me to know (amongst other things) that you have (this time) complied with the challenge rules so none of us have any advantages or disadvantages in that respect.

OldFinn: To answer your question, I processed from raw and performed all adjustments using Lightroom. To view the final LR settings copy and paste this link in your browser: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw5WCupVaFmCaldUVEV2LTJPUGs/view?usp=sharing

If you have any problem viewing the file, give me your email address and I will send it to you.

Lo: Do you often use the PP information to help you place a photo in relation to others? If so, how does that work?

This is a tremendous shot, especially as it is taken at night, when exposure can be so dicey. The colours are wonderful, and the people really give a good sense of scale.
In this case, the EXIF info is informative, but the p.p. really doesn't tell me anything unusual, or help me to place this photo in relation to my other favourites.

The balloons are really big when compared to the people and cars in the picture. Well exposed and composed. I am interested about the Raw conversion and the results in exposure and ISO 6400.

Mepo: Thanks for replying. I do the same.
Forkcandles: Thanks for the comment. I agree that without seeing the original the PP information isn't very useful.
Robert: Thank you for responding. I don't pay attention to the PP info either.

Love the composition. Great timing with the third balloon not being fully inflated. That adds more interest and life to the photo. I couldn't figure out the dark lines on the ground at first - they help lead the eye in beautifully. I'm not a fan of pp info so I try not to read it until I've made all my picks.

Great shot that captures the theme perfectly. Love the lighting. Steve, I assume, the pp comments don't really help, but then again, I do not pay a great deal of attention to the comments. It is the image itself that I pay attention to.

This is wonderful! I love the bright colours against the black sky, the clarity, the interesting view of people who are made to look like miniatures and the great composition cutting diagonally across the frame.

Nice night time shot...the black sky really makes the colrs in ballons pop.
In TT.

Jade: Thank you for responding. Despite your doubts I am honestly seeking to find out what people believe they get out of the PP information -- that's my agenda. Personally, reading someone's PP information post doesn't help me evaluate the quality of the image. Nor do I learn how to apply any particular technique to an image by reading the descriptions. How can I possibly do so when I do not know what the original shot looked like nor the exact steps and amounts of adjustment? I still don't understand how the general PP info helps your own efforts or how being of general interest to you is a higher priority than the reasonable concern that some folks have that it biases judgement.

    well on theme
the PP information on a scale of one to 10 say 4 not seeing the original but what you have done I expect I would have done as well as straighten which was covered in the perspective section.

like the bold colours and also the space you had to work in getting the shot
our balloon event is held on with 250000 other cameras and babys kids etc etc

I dislike that I perceive an agenda in the post-processing comments which is best voiced on the forum, not here; if there was an ounce of sincerity in your request, it is poorly worded; that said I find any PP comment generally helpful since it gives me some idea how the image was achieved and allows me to better utilize that information in my own efforts.

Your photo is wonderful. My top pick.

Great lighting and exposure. People and vehicles give good sense of scale to the balloons. Very nice!
