Another beautiful and creative entry. Congratulations Neil.

Congrats - well deserved win! I'll send over my Sergeant Major - he'll have those pins standing straight and still in no time flat LOL Maybe you should consider a lightbox to go with your anti earthquake apparatus. They are really easy to construct and help a lot with light & reflections.

Thank you for the lovely comments :-) .

ysal - You are very kind. I'm glad you got it. It took 4 goes before I got the spacing the way I wanted, then I had to get them all to stand vertically at the same time. I guess it took a bit over 45 mins and i'm still not happy with one of them :-) .

johncomyn - Yes at Fujimugs. Please see my reply to elliott below.

A brilliant image and title. My top pick by a big margin. How long did it take you to align all the pins??

I've seen this before, not sure if here or at Fujimugs. I think it
did quite well then, and might this time around too.

Nice interplay of pins and shadows, particularly the design formed by their intersection.

Thanks very much all three of you. I'm really pleased you like my photo :-)

Quite clever - high in my top ten

Thanks very much both :-) .

Mepo - I think you have taken the photo's meaning a step or two further than I had planned. I can see what you mean about the positioning of each shadow but as the title infers, it is supposed to relate to their colour only.

The second reflection comes from a distant room light, without which the side of the pins opposite the torch looked too dark.

I agree with the sentiment you are attempting to demonstrate. However, if you study the shadows carefully you will see that they are all different. This might lead you to conclude that our shadows can be affected by the position we are placed in or where we choose to place ourselves. I think that conclusion would be more true to life.

I think this would have been better if you had avoided the multiple reflections on the pin heads. Kudos for the iea and the set up. In my top picks.

Thank you ever so much both :-) .

SteveBee - It was a pain to get them all vertical. They kept on moving! I'm still not happy with one of them now LOL.

Very eye-catching; I was drawn to it immediately. Simple and effective and it should do well.

Yes, around 4.5 years ago. I tried to improve on it as it went down quite well. I prefer certain aspects of this photo but the much smaller sensor on this camera struggled to reach the same quality as the original. I think i'll give it another go one day. Third time lucky.

As you, I too miss the old gang and other aspects of Fujimugs.
