Street Photography       ©2016 Anthony Comyn
NIKON D750       1st place, 213 points
1/80s, f6.3, ISO 100, 24mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: USM, Dodge and Burn on the faces and clothing, Cropped to tighten the portrait, convert to black and white, contrast up, highlights adjusted.       Extra Info: While searching Panachellenge I came across a comment Alex made on a entry submitted by "bryanshoots" for the challenge #151 THREE (revisited). He's comment was "Love the look on the face of the one who caught you. I do think this image would have been stronger with a tighter crop. Still one of my top favorites. I love street photography." I took this image on recent travels of mine and thought it would be a good fit for remembering AMbaker, considering he's love for street photography and B&W portraits.

This looks like a family that knows how to have fun. Kudos for capturing those wonderful expressions. Amazing detail and texture using only B&W.

Sure this wasn't at the Gilbert and Sullivan revival?! Wonderful faces and accouterments. I think the crop and the entire shot works. If AMB loved street and BW, sure he'd like this.

Reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean. Nice B&W portrait.

Pirates of the .... canyon! What a quirky portrait. I'm sure Alex would have liked it. (I'm sure everyone would like it.) Tonal contrasts are superb.

@Aoc46 - They do look like trouble don't they?
@ysal - Not costumes, locals from the area.
@elliot - No not India. Unfortunately I can't disclose location information at the moment, but maybe in about 3 weeks. Hope you understand. What I can say is, no costumes, actually this is 2 sons and their mother. And they didn't charge for the photo.
@RL - Interesting you figured this was me! Considering the context I have behind the photo I do consider this street photography, I didn't have to do much other than find a good vantage point and ask them if they mind if I take a photo.

I actually prefer the color of this photo, but I went for B&W for obvious reasons, and I think it works too! I will share the color in outtakes..

Great tribute to AMBaker - looks like an A Comyn image, which is a compliment. Great example of "street" or "people" photography.

this is great. very mesmerizing gaze from the subjects. please share where this was taken. from the grafitti i'm thinking india. if these are locals, it is intriguing but having trouble with the long curled locks and pirates of the caribbean look. i'm almost thinking it is a photo op run by the person in the middle and she or he charges money to take your picture with her and her donkey wearing costuming that she provides. in any case, nice going.

This is a great people shot. Are they in costume or is this how they always dress? Regardless, great. High in my TT.
