Panasonic DMC-GX85       2nd place, 188 points
1/5s, f3.6, ISO 200, 30mm, Aperture Priority, Center Weighted Average, no flash

Post-Processing: Bracketed exposure and merged multiple images in LR for improved dynamic range. Cropped a little, made global tonal adjustments, e.g., +exposure, +clarity, +contrast, +shadows beneath the falls, +highlights on water.       Extra Info: merged multiple images

The mill is on the U.S. National Registry of Historic Places. It was built around 1756 and was operated for nearly 200 years. It was finally closed in 1953. It's now part of a county park and nature area.

Congratulations Steve - absolutely iconic and beautifully captured.

Congrats. The little puddles in the foreground, some with reflections, make the shot so much better.

Shot when the light was just right! Did you try other lighting conditions or just plan for that time of day? Congrats.

fantastic.. very well composed shot. Excellent. The multiple images makes the smooth fall blend in with historical mill very well.

Nice angle, like the water over the dam edge and the partial reflection of the mill. Nicely sharp.

What a lovely old mill! I'm glad that it's heritage is recognised, valued and protected. I like your composition with that wall of water falls leading to the building, and that the details are clear in both lit and shaded areas. High in my favourites.

Nice, crisp image and love the water falling adding content to the mill

Almost too quaint to believe. Good photo and well composed. 200 years was a good working life.

The lighting in this photo is beautiful - I particularly like the reflections in the puddles. The wall of the dam leads the eye in toward the old mill.

Very well executed, sharp interesting image and the contrast between light and shadow areas works well for me. Reflection in water takes on a coppery appearance. Happy to hang this on my wall and in my TT.

for a photo merge this is very well done
the dry water table at the bottom of the water fall is a disappointment so the other image is better for seeing this one . maybe a bit darker blue in the sky?

Beautiful image! I do find the bottom part (wet rocks and reflection) distracting. I like it better when I view this with that part blocked and only see the building and the waterfalls. Still in my TT.

Nice composition, and good choice of subject. Consider adding a little more contrast to the sunlit areas.

I prefer your other image! Lol... Nicely composed, but feel it could be better, maybe a lower angle or closer to the wall / water / water falls. The 1/5s exposure works I like the slight blur. The problem with shooting deep shadow and bright light in a HDR you shouldn't process them together, or the light temp on the camera needs to be adjusted warmer for the shadow exposure. If you look closely in the bottom half of the image where things should look whiteish looks rather blueish. You can also fix this up post processing relatively easily. I can adjust this and share in outtakes to demonstrate if you like, just let me know.
