Extra Info: Historic flooding during the summers of 1993 and especially 2008 occurred after the reservoir's capacity was exceeded. Water rushed over the adjacent emergency spillway for over a month at high flow rates. The overlying concrete road and up to 17 feet of soil and rock was ripped away, exposing the Devonian bedrock level below. Here a treasure chest of fossils and rock formations were uncovered dating from at least 375 million years ago, This exposed sea floor had been a warm, shallow sea similar to today's Caribbean.

I like the rich colours and the superb detail in this photo. The flood must have been an archeologist's dream come true.

Yeah, it does look like it leans, but it is an illusion. The manner in in which the water dug through the earth juxtaposed against the natural slopes of the surrounding topography creates that visual. It's all part of the almost disorienting feeling you get when you look at this huge gorge or volume created. The walkway and almost centrally located structure in the distance provides a basis to assess horizontal.

Nice exposure and detail. If we could see some of the fossils in the foreground, it would add greatly to the 'storytelling" quality. Overall, I get a sense of the scene leaning to the right, but that could be an illusion.

Maybe it is just me, but the image looks slightly skew, but seeing that there is very little for me use as a benchmark I can't really say if that is the case. Interesting landscape nonetheless!
