Cheese Dreams - DIY Bokeh Filter       ©2017 ysal
Panasonic DMC-GF1       15th place, 45 points
1/8s, f1.8, ISO 200, 40mm, Manual, Spot, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped, applied strong vignette, brightened the cat, cloned out some dirt on his face, resized, denoised, sharpened.       Extra Info: This may get disqualified because the entire image does not appeared to be altered. But I did use a home-made bokeh filter that covers the entire front of the lens, with a small heart cutout to force heart-shaped bokeh. The bokeh are from small Christmas light I dug out and strung in the background.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Lo - thanks! I think people liked the image but most thought this does not qualify as a filter per the challenge definition.

Ysal, I thought this was really creative and beautiful. I thought it would place much higher.

I think the effect is magical. I'm glad you explained how you created the filter - very ingenious.

I like this a lot. Intriguing representation of a dream.

Clever concept - would like to know more about your filter and how it works. Chief critique is that I'd prefer to see the cat's face.

That's pretty sweet. I'll have to try that myself.

I wonder if this is on topic - it is and also isn't - but it's really clever in that I've not seen this done before. But a brilliant image - I'll squirrel that away for future use.
