Scotch and Soda       ©2017 alis nocturnis
Olympus SZ-31MR       7th place, 92 points
1/30s, f3, ISO 100, 25mm, Creative, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Minimal - just cropped and re-sized.       Extra Info: The filter is an eight-sided tumbler filled with a mixture of one part scotch to ten parts soda water. The subject is the empty soda water can on the far side of the filter. The idea was to have refraction and reflection to go with the swirly logo of the manufacturer.

Great composition. Love the colours and the 8 sided tumbler was a good choice.

The glass filter added a lot of colour and interest to an otherwise common object. Well done.

I like the way the can is completely enclosed within the glass. Very colourful also.

Nice clean image. I really like the bottom half of the image with the blue tinge.

I love the idea of the can being distorted by the glass. the filter is both a subject itself, as well as clearly affecting the main subject (the can).
the crop is interesting - is there a reason for cutting it so close?

Nice clarity to go along with the distortions. The colours are effective. In my tt.

Nice effect = like how the "filter' is relevant to the subject.

An intriguing image, almost SiFi with the blue base.

Hmmmm, the filter is not affecting the whole photo as specified in the challenge description. Might still make my final cut of favs.

This might have been better without the top of the level of beverage visible. Did you try shooting it that way, too? If so, I'd like to see that version in the outtakes.
